Palace Exhibition Rules & Membership:
Anything to be shown in the Palace must be in by 12:00 pm Friday or be locked out. Judging in Palace to commence at 1:00 pm Friday.
Articles to be removed from the Palace between 3:30 pm & 4:30 p.m. Sunday by Exhibitor or Authorized person. Prize money will be forfeited if articles are removed before 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Non-prize winning baking may be removed after judging.
All canned fruit and pickles must be shown in pint sealers or 500 ml preserving jars. Jams and Jellies must be shown in ½ pint (250 ml) or 1 pint (500 ml) preserving jars. All entries must be no more than one year old. Sealer rings must be new.
Judges of Ladies' Work are authorized to disqualify all soiled, defaced or old work, and give prizes to new, up-to-date work. Articles may not be shown more than 2 years.
Protests (if any) to be given to the Secretary before 7p.m. in writing, same day of show, for the Directors to address at their next meeting. Anyone entering a protest must deposit $2.00 with the protest. If protest sustained, the $2.00 will be returned.
Exhibitors will notify Directors by reporting exhibits that are contrary to rule, on day of show.
Any parties interfering with the judges, directly or indirectly, will forfeit their prize money in said class.
Membership fee shall be $5.00. NO fee for youth exhibiting in Grade 8 or younger. Each exhibitor who pays their membership fee automatically becomes a member of the Odessa Agricultural Society, and is entitled to attend all meetings which are held the last Thursday of each month at the fair grounds.
Exhibitors to show no more than one entry per section.
The Society reserves the right to reduce the amount offered in prizes, if necessary, to meet any emergencies that may arise.
The Society will take every precaution to prevent accidents or losses, but the Society will not be responsible for any that may occur.
No article to take more than one First Prize and one Special Prize.
All cheques must be cashed by December 15th or money will revert to the Society.
Anyone wishing to compete in adult classes must purchase an adult Membership fee, regardless of age.
