Palace Exhibition Rules & Membership:

1. Anything to be shown in the Palace must be in by 12:00pm on Friday or it will be locked out. Judging in the Palace will commence at 1:00pm on Friday.

2. Articles are to be removed from the Palace between 3:30pm – 4:30pm on the Sunday by the exhibitor or authorized person. Prize money will be forfeited if articles are removed before 3:30pm on the Sunday. However, non-prize-winning baking may be removed after judging on the Friday.

3. All canned fruit and pickles must be shown in pint sealers or 500ml preserving jars. Jams and jellies must be shown in ½ pint (250ml) or 1 pint (500ml) preserving jars. All entries must be no more than 1 year old. Sealer rings must be new.

4. Judges of Ladies’ Work are authorized to disqualify all soiled, defaced or old work, and give prizes to new, up to date work. Articles may not be shown more than 2 years.

5. Protests (if any) are to be given to the secretary before 7:00pm in writing, the same day of the show, for the Directors to address at their next meeting. Anyone entering a protest must deposit $2.00 with the protest. If the protest sustained, the $2.00 will be returned.

6. Exhibitors will notify the Directors by reporting exhibits that are contrary to the rules on the day of the show.

7. Any parties interfering with the judges, directly or indirectly, will forfeit their prize money in said class.

8. Membership fee is $5.00; there is NO fee for youth exhibiting in Grade 8 or younger. Each exhibitor who pays their membership fee automatically becomes a member of the Odessa Agricultural Society and is entitled to attend all meetings which are held the last Thursday of each month at the fairgrounds.

9. Exhibitors are to show no more than one entry per section.

10. The Odessa Agricultural Society reserves the right to reduce the amount offered in prizes, if necessary, to meet any emergencies that may arise.

11. The Odessa Agricultural Society will take every precaution to prevent accidents or losses, but the Odessa Agricultural Society will not be responsible for any that may occur.

12. No article is to take more than one First Prize and one Special Prize.

13. All cheques must be cashed by December 15th, or money will revert to the Odessa Agricultural Society.

14. Anyone wishing to compete in adult classes must purchase an adult Membership fee, regardless of age.
